We are now accepting applications from the general public for two programs to be held this fall!

● Call for Entries: Mini-Exhibition “People Who Draw Shells”

In honor of Kazuo Kurohara—the collector who assembled our museum’s collection and who was a Western-style painter—

we are hosting the mini-exhibition “People Who Draw Shells.”

Why not draw a “shell” and submit your work?

Dates: Sat, Sept. 19, 2026 – Sun, Jan. 31, 2027

Venue: The Seashell Gallery Multipurpose Room

[Drop-off Period]

Fri, Sept. 11, 2026 – Wed, Sept. 16, 2026

[Entry Requirements]

Paintings depicting shells, framed (simple framing is acceptable), with the longest side no longer than 1 m.

Any art materials and coloring techniques are acceptable, but entries must be two-dimensional works only.

[How to Apply]

Please apply using the form below or by phone (0880-85-0137).

[Notes]

During the event, we will introduce Kazuo Kurohara and “People Who Draw Shells” from Japan and abroad.

We also plan to set up a postcard-sized drawing corner during the exhibition period.

● “Book Marche 2026” Book Flea Market

This annual, public-participation market has “books” as its theme. This year, it’s even bigger with the addition of food and drink booths.

Why not pass on the books gathering dust at home to their next readers?

Venue: The Seashell Gallery Park

【Application Period】

Saturday, July 28, 2026 – Wednesday, September 30, 2026 (The deadline may be moved up if we receive a large number of applications)

[Participation Fee]

500 yen per space (includes rental of one table and one chair)

[How to Apply]

Please apply using the form below or by phone (0880-85-0137)
